Lead Medical Assistant- Family Practice

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lead Medical Assistant for Family Practice is accountable for the following critical functions: Clinical Responsibilities: Prepare patients for clinical examination with precision and professionalism, ensuring compliance with all clinical protocols and standards Execute a comprehensive range of clinical skills required for ambulatory patient care, including vital signs assessment, specimen collection, and patient screening Maintain strict adherence to infection control procedures and HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions Document patient information and clinical findings accurately and completely in the electronic health record system Administrative and Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide direct support and oversight to medical assistant staff, ensuring consistent adherence to clinic standards and procedures Coordinate scheduling, patient flow, and clinic operations to optimize efficiency and patient care delivery Perform receptionist duties as assigned, managing patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and telephone communications with professionalism Execute laboratory assistant functions when required, including specimen processing and quality assurance Company Description At Henry Ford Health, we're committed to advancing health and improving lives for the millions of people we serve across Michigan and around the world. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Medical Assistant Program or graduate of a formal medical assistant program with a minimum of five years continuous work as Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience. Completion of a clinical externship. Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant. Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current BLS-C certificate. One of the following is required.
