Detention Officer

As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our correctional facility. You will be responsible for supervising inmates, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records. We are looking for individuals who possess strong communication skills, have the ability to remain calm under pressure, and can effectively manage conflicts. Duties Maintain security and control within a correctional facility Supervise and monitor inmate activities, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband Respond to emergencies and disturbances within the facility Enforce disciplinary actions as necessary Escort inmates to and from various locations within the facility Maintain accurate records and write detailed reports Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent Must be at 18 years old Must pass a background check and drug screening Physical fitness and agility to perform job duties effectively Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays Skills First aid certification preferred Strong report writing skills Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols Conflict management and de-escalation skills CPR certification preferred Familiarity with CCTV systems and monitoring Benefits Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement savings plan with employer match Paid time off and holiday pay #J-18808-Ljbffr
