Assists in the preparation of the patients' meals and nourishments; serves cafeteria customers, operates the cash register and performs daily after-meal cleanup.Key Responsibilities:Demonstrates skills and abilities to perform food preparation (including maintaining food temperatures), set-up, and service for patients (including special diets) and cafeteria customersPerforms clean-up of patient trays and cafeteria dishes and dining room according to department procedure. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to operate Hobart Dishwasher according to departmental procedure and manufacturer's instructions on file.Demonstrates knowledge and skills to operate cash register according to manufacturer's instructions. Competently rings up cafeteria sales, makes correct change, and is able to reconcile cash drawer at the end of the shift.Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform safe storage of food items to avoid waste and spoilage, according to department procedureDemonstrates ability to handle food items according to Health Department temperature standards. Uses techniques which prevent cross-contamination of potentially hazardous foodsRequired Qualifications:1 year of food preparation or distribution experience1 year customer service experienceFood Handler Card or ServSafePreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED1 Year Cashier experienceCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
