Principal Radar Software Engineer (Onsite) (Huntsville)

Job Summary

Principal Radar Software Engineer – Onsite, Huntsville, AL. U.S. citizen required with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC): requirements, design, development (C/C++), test, validation, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional agile teams to define, design, and implement new features, ensuring system integration and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency.
• Write and maintain documentation, including system architecture and design specifications.
• Participate in product reviews, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and best practices.
• Stay current with industry trends: modern programming, AI, DevSecOps, and related technologies.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and serve in part‑time or full‑time leadership roles.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications – Must Have

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with C++ on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Knowledge in radar software development areas (e.g., signal processing, DSP, RF systems, radar modeling, electronic attack/protection).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government interim Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
• 3+ years of MATLAB development.
• Experience with MDA X‑Band radar design and radar signal processing simulations.
• High‑performance real‑time software development, parallel programming, and hardware acceleration (e.g., SIMD, CUDA/OpenCL).
• Performance analysis, profiling, and optimization of computationally intensive applications.
