Staff Pharmacist (Per Diem)

Hours of Operation M‑F 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM and Sat 10 AM - 1 PM Job Overview The Staff Pharmacist is essential in the daily operations of a pharmacy, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. This role involves leading and supervising pharmacy staff, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Benefits Sick Pay Day shift schedule Nights and Weekends Off Wellness Resources Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacy technicians, and support staff, to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies Clinical Services Perform patient outreach and communicate with patients effectively to close gaps in their medication therapy Quality Improvement and Safety Ensure pharmacy team is working in a manner that support patient safety Education and Training Oversee the training and development of clinical pharmacy staff, including orientation, continuing education, and professional development Provide education and training to healthcare providers on pharmacotherapy and medication management Mentor pharmacy students, residents, and fellows in clinical practice and research activities Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and other departments within the organization Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes Quality Assurance and Safety Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in medication dispensing and handling Monitor for and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards Qualifications Bachelor’s in pharmacy or related degree; Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution preferred Active pharmacist license in good standing in practicing state Board certification in a relevant pharmacy specialty (e.g., BCPS, BCACP) preferred Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and healthcare regulations Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
