Lab Intern – Seattle | Valence The Tone: This is a Lab Intern internship at Valence, located on-site in Seattle, WA. Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company providing essential solutions to the commercial aerospace, defense, space, and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites, Valence offers a complete process from non-destructive testing and chemical processing to paint and sub-assembly. The company’s mission is to transform the traditionally fragmented aerospace supply chain by consolidating numerous steps and suppliers into an all-inclusive, regional solution, thereby reducing costs, lead times, and logistical complexities while maintaining high capacity. This Lab Intern role is crucial for gaining valuable hands-on laboratory experience in a regulated industrial environment, directly supporting key operations, ensuring compliance, and upholding safety standards, thereby contributing to the company’s overall laboratory and workforce development goals. The TL;DR Role: Internship Type: Internship (Full-Time/Part-Time) Location: In-person, Seattle, WA Pay: $21–$24 hourly Team: Reports to the General Manager within the Data Department. Mission: This intern will support key laboratory activities, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and safety requirements are consistently met. Tech Stack: Excel, data visualization software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint What You’ll Actually Do Lab Activities: Assist with various key laboratory-related activities. Operations Support: Provide support for day-to-day lab operations. Compliance Adherence: Help ensure compliance with all relevant lab regulations. Safety Requirements: Support and maintain lab safety requirements. Company Contribution: Contribute directly to the company’s laboratory and workforce development goals. The Must-Haves Background: Must be currently enrolled in or have graduated with a relevant degree program, with preferred backgrounds on track to attain an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or a technical certificate. Additionally, candidates must possess U.S. person status as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) – specifically, a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Experience: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and data visualization software. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint.
