Elementary School Nurse

Full time position at Tipton Community School Corporation. Qualifications: professional registered nursing license. Length of term: full-time 182 days. Reports to: school nurse and principals. Job goal: support good health for students and employees of the school corporation with health care and health education.

Responsibilities include providing nursing care to ill and injured students, first aid treatment of injuries and illnesses, notifying parents regarding illness or injury, arranging transportation for ill and injured students, documenting and reporting serious injuries and illnesses, monitoring students with physical disabilities, recording student visits to the clinic, completing documentation for accident reports, dispensing student medications, conducting vision, scoliosis, and pediculosis screenings, maintaining student cumulative health records, communicating effectively with students, parents, doctors, teachers, and administrators, maintaining medical supplies, participating in health care in-service activities, arranging for own substitute when unable to work, and performing other duties as requested.

Each nurse will be responsible to arrange for own substitute when unable to work. Communicate any schedule changes to the school nurse and administrator.
