Job Description
Join Our Dynamic ICU Team!


- Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts
- Availability: EOW (Every Other Weekend) or up to 3 weekends/month if the unit is busy, plus 1 holiday off during the assignment.

### Unit Highlights:
- Auto-offer based on clinical prescreen
- Requirements: 3 years of recent ICU experience (no exceptions!)
- Must include experience in either neuro or cardiovascular (CV)
- Dysrhythmia Exam: Required 24-48 hours prior to position acceptance
- Simulation Lab: Pass/fail on Day 1 of orientation


### Unit Details:
- Type: Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
- Bed Count: 32
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Common Diagnoses:
- Level 1 trauma center
- Falls, GSW, blunt trauma
- MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15
- Ex-lap, crani, specialty neuro-surgery cases, CVA, status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS


### Skills & Responsibilities:
- Titrating Drips: Required
- Common Drips: Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulin
- Charge Nurse: Yes (does not take patients)
- Support Staff: No nurse aids, only sitters and Health Unit Secretary
- RT Availability: 24/7 in ICU


### Equipment & Technology:
- Ventilation Equipment: Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s BiPap, Airvo
- Telemetry: No monitor techs on unit, RNs interpret their own strips with GE monitors


### Work Schedule:
- Self-Scheduling: Yes; manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs
- Weekend Requirements: 3 weekend shifts in 4-week schedule (Nightshift weekends: Friday - Saturday; Dayshift: Saturday - Sunday)


### Floating Requirements:
- Float to Telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed


### Additional Notes:
- Skills validation for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as needed
- Will float between medical/cardiac ICU and overflow ICU
