Wine Sales Reps: Los Gatos, Santa Cruz & Monterey

Vinifera Wine Marketing is seeking one Wine Sales Representative to grow our footprint and business in Los Gatos, Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties.

Role Description:
The Wine Sales Representative will be responsible for managing and growing account base within the defined territory, building strong relationships with on and off premise buyers, scheduling tastings appointments and meetings with wine buyers and accounts, participating in winery visits, trade events, and industry tastings. Someone who already has buyer/account relationships and wine sales experience is preferred, and you need to reside in the territory.

Qualifications:
•  Experience in Wine Sales and the Wine & Spirits Industry
•  Knowledge of the Beverage Industry
•  Familiarity of the territory and key trade accounts
•  Strong Customer Service and Sales skills
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•  Passion for wine and a desire to continuously learn about the industry
•  Knowledge and understanding of wines from Italy, France and Austria
•  Sales experience in the wine trade
•  Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
•  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Duties:
•  Manage and grow your account base within the defined territory
•  Build strong, ongoing relationships with retail and restaurant buyers
•  Represent a dynamic portfolio of family-owned, artisanal wineries
•  Schedule tastings appointments and meetings with wine buyers and accounts
•  Participate in winery visits, trade events, and industry tastings
•  Awareness of upcoming new account openings and using new account leads to develop new business
•  Maintain accurate records in our CRM and follow up with accounts consistently
•  Contribute to regular team calls, meetings, and trainings

Compensation:
This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Compensation is based on commission. There is no cap on earnings.
