Admitting Clerk - ER

Hours of Job:

• PT - 1st-2nd shift
• 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Creates a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor or staff while pre-admitting, admitting and/or registering, routing, or escorting patients, family, or visitors, serving as entity resource.
• Registers emergency room visits. Registers inpatient and outpatient visits when needed.
• In addition, obtains necessary signatures, completes paperwork, and distributes correctly.
• Checks and rechecks all paperwork before it leaves the area for complete information and accuracy.

Requirements:

• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.

Education/Certifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

• Previous Admitting/Registration experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical insurance is preferred.
