Assists research station staff with field operations to establish, maintain and harvest crops research plots. Operations may include planting and harvesting of research crops, weighing and grading produce; weeding, irrigation, Operates agricultural equipment, mowers and grounds equipment; cleans and maintains work areas, and other duties as assigned.

Pct Duties

60 % Assists research station staff with field operations to establish, maintain and harvest crops research plots. Operations may include planting and harvesting of research crops; weeding, irrigation, Operates agricultural equipment, mowers and grounds equipment; cleans and maintains work areas, and other duties as assigned.

40% weighing and grading produce; collecting soil and plant samples, recording data, data entry and record keeping.

Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees.Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment.Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role.Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.

Additional Information:

Position located at Muck Crops Agricultural Research Station, Willard, Ohio. Student can work up to 38 hours during academic breaks.
