About the Role

The Company is in need of an Interim Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all finance and accounting functions during a critical transition period. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring long-term financial stability, sustainability, and growth, and will be tasked with building and managing the organization's annual operating budget, improving financial reporting, and partnering closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a finance team, managing cash flow, and financial planning, and establishing and strengthening accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. The Interim CFO will also be involved in grant and government funding reporting, annual audits, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. Applicants for the Interim CFO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of progressive accounting and finance experience within nonprofit organizations, with at least 5 years' in a senior finance leadership role. A strong background in nonprofit accounting, grant funding, audits, compliance, and financial reporting is essential, as is experience in presenting financial data to Boards of Directors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and managing complex organizational budgets, be adept at managing multiple funding sources and contracts, and be comfortable in environments that require process improvement and financial cleanup. Advanced proficiency in financial management tools and a CPA or advanced degree are strongly preferred.
