Private Equity Associate | Generalist Middle-Market Platform We are working with a leading middle‑market private equity investor seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team in the Midwest. Role Overview This is a high-impact investing role within a generalist private equity platform focused on control investments in established middle-market companies across sectors including business services, consumer, industrials, healthcare, and select other industries . The Associate will be involved across the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring portfolio companies. Key Responsibilities Support origination, screening, and evaluation of new investment opportunities Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses Conduct comprehensive due diligence across financial, commercial, and operational areas Assist in structuring and executing M&A and leveraged buyout transactions Partner with management teams on value creation initiatives and performance tracking Prepare investment committee materials and support decision‑making processes Monitor portfolio company performance and assist with exit preparation and execution Candidate Profile 2–3 years of investment banking experience at a middle‑market or boutique advisory firm Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills Prior exposure to M&A execution strongly preferred Experience working across multiple industries (or strong generalist coverage) is a plus High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple live transactions Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders Demonstrated interest in private equity and long‑term investing Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance Preferred Background Candidates from middle‑market investment banks and advisory firms , including but not limited to generalist coverage groups at firms such as Jefferies, Lincoln International, Harris Williams, Piper Sandler, Stifel, William Blair, Raymond James, and similar platforms.
