RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Pediatrics Gastroenterology

Position Summary RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator supports a high‑volume pediatric GI team caring for patients from infancy through young adulthood with acute and chronic gastrointestinal and nutrition needs. The role works Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM onsite and is supported across satellite locations. It involves triaging patient calls, managing MyChart communications, coordinating care plans with physicians and nurse practitioners, handling medication refills and results, and supporting clinic operations. Schedule 40 hours per week. Onsite role Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Initial training at the main campus. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; completes health history and physical examination; conveys findings to the physician. Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, attends inpatient rounds, and assists with referrals to outside sources. Assists physicians and supports examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Performs nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance. Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources. Clinical/diagnostic equipment. Education & Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience. Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, in accordance with the Compact Act. Basic Life Support certification required, obtained within one month of employment. Preferred Qualifications Ideal candidate has pediatric experience (GI preferred), is detail‑oriented, empathetic, team‑focused, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
