About the Position

Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in requested specialty License: Required RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (CPI offered if not held), TNCC (preferred) Must-Have: ICU skills including arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, and caring for post-craniotomy patients. Description: This position is for an experienced ICU RN. The facility has a Level 2 Trauma Designation and is a teaching hospital. The ICU includes Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiac patients, comprising 26 beds. Common patient conditions include drug overdose, psychosis, myocardial infarction, subarachnoid hemorrhage, trauma, sepsis, and acute respiratory failure. Nurses will be required to manage life support systems and other critical care tasks. The department emphasizes teamwork and prompt assistance among staff. Nurses are expected to respond quickly to telemetry and call lights. The schedule includes weekend rotation, with holiday work obligations. Floating may occur across all medical-surgical and critical care areas as needed. Support staff available includes CNAs, respiratory therapists, and other specialists. The department utilizes EMR systems and various specialized equipment. Nurses in this role must show professionalism and provide patient-centered care. Candidates will undergo thorough evaluation to ensure they fit the department’s collaborative culture.
