Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

The ER Nurse provides skilled nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting for patients of all ages. The role supports assessment, treatment, and coordination of care across the main emergency area and fast track services.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients promptly using triage-informed nursing judgment and current clinical standards
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and established protocols
• Monitor vital signs and patient status, recognizing changes that require immediate escalation
• Support rapid throughput in the fast track area while maintaining safety and quality of care
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
• Implement infection prevention, safety practices, and emergency response procedures

Qualifications:

• Hold a current HI Registered Nurse license
• Maintain current clinical competence in emergency/acute care nursing principles
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in high-acuity environments
• Provide safe medication administration and ongoing patient monitoring per policy
• Possess effective communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
