Role Description The Computer Aided Design Technician is a full-time, hybrid role based in St. Louis, MO. This role involves creating and updating detailed CAD drawings and 3D models for custom fiberglass shelters, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements. The technician collaborates with engineering, production, and sales teams to translate customer requirements into accurate technical drawings, bills of materials, and layout plans. Daily responsibilities include revising drawings based on feedback, maintaining organized design files, and supporting documentation for manufacturing and installation. The role may also involve assisting with technical inquiries, contributing to process improvements, and ensuring clear communication of design intent across departments. Qualifications Ability to provide Technical Support related to design files, CAD software usage, and basic technical documentation. Skills in Computer Maintenance to keep CAD workstations, peripherals, and design-related tools optimized and functional. Strong Troubleshooting capabilities for resolving CAD file issues, software errors, and design-related challenges. Experience with Computer Repair and hardware adjustments sufficient to coordinate or perform minor repairs as needed. Proficiency with Operating Systems commonly used in engineering and design environments (e.g., Windows-based CAD workstations). Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and the ability to read and create technical drawings. Strong attention to detail, accuracy in measurements, and ability to follow specifications and industry standards. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, production, and customer service teams. Organizational skills for managing multiple projects, version control, and documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
