Travel CT Tech Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona Assignment: 13‑week travel assignment. Summary The CT Tech operates computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross‑sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes. The technician prepares patients for the procedure, positions patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensures proper imaging protocols are followed, and works closely with radiologists to obtain high‑quality images for accurate diagnosis. CT Techs also maintain equipment, keep patient records, and follow safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure while providing compassionate care throughout the imaging process. Essential Work Functions Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue. Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately. Set appropriate technical parameters to demonstrate anatomy and pathology accurately. Provide high‑quality images to radiologists for interpretation. Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment. Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital’s system. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services. Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist. Valid radiology license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Current ARRT certification. Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently. Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration on details. Sensory Possess visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively.
