Senior Attorney, Partner or Practice Leader

Compensation: $185,000–$300,000, plus bonus and/or origination-based compensation Benefits: Health, dental, vision, retirement plan, and additional firm-supported benefits An established Maryland law firm is seeking experienced attorneys in one or more of the following practice areas: Family Law Estate Planning and Elder Law Business and Transactional Law Business and Commercial Litigation Other Practice areas may be considered. A conversation would be required to determine if there is mutual interest and fit The firm is open to attorneys at different stages of their careers, including experienced associates, senior attorneys, counsel, partner-track attorneys, partners, practice leaders, and successful solo practitioners. This is not a one-size-fits-all opportunity. The firm is interested in speaking with attorneys who may fit one of several profiles: An established attorney with a portable book of business who wants a stronger platform, greater operational support and additional resources for growth A senior attorney who is ready to lead or help build a practice area An experienced attorney without a current book of business who has strong legal skills, leadership potential and the ability to develop client and referral relationships A solo practitioner or small-firm attorney who wants to continue growing a practice without carrying the full administrative burden of running a firm Attorneys with a meaningful book of business are strongly encouraged to respond, but a portable book is not required for every candidate. The firm will consider experience, practice-area knowledge, leadership ability, client relationships, business-development potential and long-term fit. The Opportunity Depending on experience and career goals, the attorney may have the opportunity to: Lead, expand, or help establish a practice area Manage sophisticated client matters from intake through resolution Develop and strengthen referral relationships Mentor and supervise attorneys and support staff Participate in firmwide strategy and growth initiatives Help improve systems, processes and client-service standards Build a long-term path toward leadership, partnership or expanded firm responsibility Access administrative, marketing, recruiting, technology and operational support The firm offers the infrastructure and reputation of an established legal platform while allowing experienced attorneys meaningful autonomy in how they manage and grow their practice. Qualifications Candidates should have: Active admission to the Maryland Bar Substantial experience in at least one of the identified practice areas Strong client-management, communication, and legal judgment The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative firm An interest in long-term growth, leadership or business development A portable book of business, established referral relationships or demonstrated potential to generate and develop work is preferred Specific experience requirements will depend on the practice area and level of opportunity. Compensation Compensation will be structured based on the attorney’s experience, practice area, leadership responsibilities, existing book of business, origination potential, and preferred role within the firm. The anticipated compensation range is $185,000–$300,000 , plus bonus and/or commission or origination-based compensation. Attorneys with significant portable business may qualify for compensation above the stated range. Because the firm is considering attorneys at several levels, compensation and title will be discussed individually and structured to reflect the value, experience and business each attorney brings to the firm.
