Mail Order Retail Pharmacy Technician - Saint Petersburg, FL

A pharmacy technician role is available for candidates with retail pharmacy experience, preferably certified by PTCB, to support prescription processing in a busy mail order and retail setting. The position focuses on providing accurate prescription fulfillment, inventory management, and effective communication with patients and healthcare providers.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Employment Type:

• Temporary/Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP or within 1.5-2 weeks following clearance

Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist review and verification
• Perform data entry, maintain prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers
• Conduct daily inventory cycle counts, restock supplies, and monitor medication expiration dates
• Assist in managing returns, medication quarantines, and destruction protocols
• Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support operational needs
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance compliance standards

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; verification of education will be conducted during screening
• PTCB certification and active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing highly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, with retail pharmacy expertise strongly preferred (hospital experience not ideal)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and making phone calls for patient and provider communications
• Strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
