AI/ML Software Engineer

Overview

AI/ML Software Engineer at Toyon Research Corporation is a position requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to qualify for a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. This in-person role involves developing software in Python or C++ to support AI/ML applications.

Our software engineers work closely with researchers and customers to create state-of-the-art solutions. Experience with Reinforcement Learning (RL), Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, or other AI/ML techniques, or video or signal processing, is a plus. Experience working in a collaborative environment with configuration management and version control tools is also desired. Candidates should possess strong math and physics knowledge to enable developing advanced AI/ML software to solve sensor data processing or control problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop software in Python or C++ to support AI/ML applications.
• Collaborate with researchers and customers to deliver state-of-the-art solutions.
• Apply AI/ML techniques (RL, LLMs, CV, video/signal processing) where appropriate.
• Work in a team with configuration management and version control practices.

Qualifications

• Strong background in engineering, computer science, physics, and/or mathematics.
• Advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) or a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of industry experience.

Annual pay range: $110,000 to $190,000 .

The posted pay range is provided for guidance on annual base compensation for a full-time role, excluding overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation. Toyon Research Corporation will consider education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when making an offer of employment.
