Job description: Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects involving earthwork, excavation, and site development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, possess excellent leadership skills, and ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

• Must be willing to Travel

The Heavy Civil Superintendent will primarily work on construction sites, requiring the ability to navigate and inspect varying terrain and conditions. This position may involve travel to different project locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES Project Planning:

Collaborate with project managers to develop construction plans, schedules, and budgets.

Analyze project specifications and blueprints to ensure compliance with design and engineering standards.

Site Management:

Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities, including excavation, grading, and earthmoving.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards.

Team Leadership:

Lead and manage on-site construction teams, providing guidance and support.

Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for construction personnel.

Communication:

Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Report project progress, issues, and potential risks to senior management.

Resource Management:

Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to ensure timely availability for construction activities.

Monitor and manage project budgets, controlling costs and expenses.

Quality Control:

Implement and enforce quality control procedures to meet project specifications.

Conduct inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet industry standards.

Problem Solving:

Identify and address issues or obstacles that may impact project timelines or budgets.

Propose and implement solutions to overcome challenges.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Superintendent in the construction industry.
