Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience: One year experience in Sonography, preferred.
Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment, able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served. Has ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Basic computer skills.
Perform high-quality ultrasound imaging and provide procedural support in collaboration with physicians
Independently complete detailed ultrasounds, using appropriate imaging techniques to ensure accuracy and diagnostic value
Assist physicians with ultrasound guidance during procedures and other diagnostic interventions
Review images for quality and accuracy and repeat or adjust studies as needed
Document patient history, clinical information, imaging results, and procedural details accurately in the EMR
Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and clean and disinfect probes and equipment in accordance with infection prevention and compliance standards
Explain procedures clearly, provide compassionate support, and help create a calm, reassuring patient experience
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and team members to support efficient clinic operations and quality care
Participate in training, staff meetings, and improvement efforts while modeling professionalism, flexibility, and organizational values
