Battery Technician II – UPS Battery Systems (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Leesburg, VA

Job Type: Full-time | 6‑month contract → permanent

Travel: ~30%+

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen required

Job Overview

We are seeking a Battery Technician II to support UPS battery systems in mission‑critical environments. This role assists with battery installations, replacements, preventative maintenance, and data collection while following strict safety and operational procedures.

This is a hands-on, field-based role with strong long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with UPS battery replacements and new installations
Support preventive maintenance (PM) and service tasks
Follow MOPs, safety rules, and critical facility procedures
Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Collect test readings and enter service data via laptop
Maintain clean and orderly job sites
Support other service teams as needed (Switchgear, HVAC, Ops)
Travel to customer sites as required

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
U.S. Citizenship required
Clean driving record
Willingness to travel 30%+
At least 1 year of hands on electrical experience
Ability to learn basic AC/DC theory
Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work safely with PPE and follow lockout / arc-flash procedures

Preferred Experience

UPS, battery, DC power, or critical facilities experience
Experience using multimeters, amp clamps, or battery test equipment
