Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7P-7A Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (preferred), NRP (preferred) Must-Have: Charge experience, EKGs, IV starts, familiarity with TNKase administration, nebulizer treatments, initiating Bipap, suture removal, assisting with casting, vent management Description: Urgent start needed. The facility has 89 licensed beds. The emergency department includes 11 beds, with 3 trauma ED beds, 1 behavioral seclusion room, and 2 negative pressure rooms. Patient types range from neonates to geriatrics. General ED patients include trauma, stroke, STEMI, behavioral health, and more. The patient ratio is RN 1:4, variable based on patient acuity within the department. Support on the unit includes a mid-level provider, hospitalist, and a critical care transport team. Traditional nursing staffing includes various shifts throughout the day and night. Security is present on-site 24/7 but typically does not respond to patient escalations. Charting is performed using FirstNet. There is no floating required between units. A weekend rotation is expected every other week. Holiday shifts will be assigned as needed. Time-off requests require manager approval. Scrub color is professional and may include any color; hospital scrubs are available but not mandatory.
