Surgical Technologist

Duties:

• Operating room surgical technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team.
• The surgical technician acts as a scrub person, prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure.
• He/She has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• He/She works collaboratively with other team members to assure quality patient care during the operative procedure.
• The surgical technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Participates in the on-call schedule for afterhours urgent/ emergent surgical cases, unless otherwise indicated.

Qualifications:

• Shift: varying shift, Mon-Fri 10 hour days
• Must be certified
• 1 year experience required
• Broad experience and especially vascular because they will be taking call and need to scrub for those procedures as well.
• Must have ortho experience
