Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Chadwick School - Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA 90274 Position Type: Seasonal Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: $36.75 - $40.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Day Job Category: Education Position Title: Summer Program Instructor/Teacher for Arts Unlimited Jewelry Crafts Position Summary Responsible for providing high quality teaching and instruction to participating students in the Chadwick Summer Program during the summer 2026 session. This instructor will lead a hands‑on course focused on heat‑dried polymer clay, teaching students design, assembly, and firing of handcrafted jewelry and miniature sculptures. Major Responsibilities Work Saturday, June 20, 2026, through Friday, July 24, 2026, excluding July 3, 2026 (observance of July 4th holiday). Attend a staff onboarding session the week beginning Monday, June 15th (2‑hour session). Complete in‑person CPR training during the week of June 15, 2026. Attend a mandatory staff training day on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Work either a half or full day during the programme hours, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Plan engaging, sequential activities with clear outcomes for all students throughout the program. Collaborate with other summer program staff, including counselors. Maintain safe work practices and comply with all safety and security procedures. Enjoy working with children aged 4–14. Attend after‑hours events, shows, and performances as required by the class taught. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Computer proficiency required. Ability to work early in the morning or late afternoon is a plus. Previous applicable experience preferred. The ability to work with children is essential. The ability to legally work in the United States is required. Compensation Salary is based on experience and highest degree earned, with a college degree starting at $36.75 per hour. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Working outdoors on 45 acres of land for extended periods; requires good visual acuity (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) and ability to adjust focus. Use of telephone, computer, copier, and other office equipment is routine. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities. Exposure to weather conditions (warm, hot or cold temperatures) and moderate noise levels. Screening TB assessment and Livescan background check or work permit will be required.
