Payroll Accountant

Responsibilities Assist with the daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll tax payment and reporting process. Bank reconciliations for various Werner bank accounts. Assist with recording escheatment checks to the general ledger for proper tracking. Assist with recording monthly tax payment activity to the general ledger. Weekly/monthly reporting of tractor statistics. Monthly reporting of driver turnover. Track various non-cash taxable fringe benefits for inclusion as reportable wages. Assist with weekly self‑funded health/dental claims reimbursements and related reporting. Reconciling various general ledger accounts associated with payroll tax liabilities. Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, in a related field of study or equivalent experience. One to two years of payroll tax reporting, bank reconciliation, or finance/accounting experience preferred. Ability to meet deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good organizational and self‑review skills with the ability to be detail oriented and have a strong sense of accuracy. Skill in working with a personal computer, including spreadsheet applications.
