Academic Physiatry Position | UT Tyler School of Medicine in East Texas | Flexible Schedule

Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine  is searching for a faculty inpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)  physician to join its expanding rehabilitation team at the 49-bed  UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center in  Tyler, TX.  The ideal candidate will have an interest in academics and the ability to provide high-quality and compassionate care to complex patients. • 1.0 Full-Time
• Join an experienced team that includes 1 nurse practitioner, physical therapists, nurses, support staff
• Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (or  flexible schedule )
• Call: 7 days/month that includes 1 weekend per month
• Rewarding teaching opportunities
• Daily Patient Load: 16-20
• EMR: Epic
• Opportunities for outpatient clinic if desired

Certifications:  UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center is a  Joint Commission-accredited facility for Limb Loss and Stroke Rehabilitation . Recruitment Package may include:

About UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center: UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 49-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available. About UT Tyler School of Medicine:
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.  
The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, UT Tyler?s Master of Biotechnology program provides students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes medical research and biotechnology innovation, preparing them for careers in medical research, diagnostics, and therapeutic development.  
Construction is currently underway on a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler?s Midtown District. Connected by a skybridge to UT Health Tyler, the MEB will support interdisciplinary education for medical students and resident training. It will also aid as part of a medical education program expansion throughout the UT Health East Texas Health System. The building is scheduled for completion in fall of 2025.
