Title: Elementary School Teacher Supervises: N/AReports to: Head of School FLSA Status: ExemptSalary Range: $60,000 - $85,000 DOE FTE: Full-Time, Regular, Academic YearWhen Needed: ImmediatelyJob Summary:Under minimal supervision, provides an exceptional classroom experience for Elementary School students.Specific Responsibilities:Teaches Kindergarten-5th Grade courses in particular discipline(s)Acts as teacher in the grade level who has primarily responsibility for grade communication, including:Weekly newsletterRegular contact with parentsHolding and reporting on team meetingsBringing issues concerning students to the attention of Senior Administration, etc.Teaches remotely as needed· Attends Orientation Week, June Week, Parent-Teacher Conference Days, Back to School Night, In-Service Days, Faculty and Lunch Team meetings, Graduation, Open Houses, sel · Participate in Recess, Lunch, Event Duties as assignedCreates and maintains positive partnerships with students and familiesEstablishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all of the school’s constituenciesActively participates in the full life of the school, including admission, development, and community eventsVigorously engages in their own professional development; is a life-long learner who enhances their skills, using state-of-the-art technologies to maintain high standards of performance to efficiently and effectively produce work productsIs familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documentsSince safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilitiesPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Education & Experience:Bachelors’ degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in education or a related field requiredTeaching credential in preferredAt least three years’ experience working with K-1 students requiredExperience working in an independent school preferredRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExceptional classroom management skillsProficient classroom technology skillsAbility to communicate and work effectively with all school constituenciesData input skills for things like student report cards and internal documentsAbility to work both independently and as a productive member of a team of highly motivated, enthusiastic teachersCommitted to on-going professional growth and developmentPassion, creativity, dedication, and collaborationFlexibility, maturity, and a sense of humorAbility to keep information in the strictest of confidenceCommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivityProficient at working in a Microsoft Windows environment, using Office; ability to master common automated systems for record keeping, and confidently learn new technologyAbility to stand multiple hours of the dayAbility to sit and keyboardAbility to talk on the phoneAbility to lift up to 40 poundsAbility to travel locallyAbility to work outside in any weather #J-18808-Ljbffr Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle
