Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a Level 2 trauma center in Idaho Falls, ID, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and advanced critical care skills including vent management and ECMO.

Details

• 29-bed general ICU within a Level 2 trauma center
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, with occasional 1:3 for patients nearing ICU discharge
• Unit staffing includes one telemetry tech; no CNAs on unit
• Equipment used includes Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV1000 and CCO, Prismaflex CRRT, and CardioHelp ECMO
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Every other weekend required
• Travelers float first to the ED and step-down units
• On-call only required when census drops

Requirements

• Active Idaho or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Advanced critical care skills required: ventilator management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ECMO required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Active cardiac surgery program performing approximately 200 cases per year
• Burn center on site
• Average ICU staff experience is 12 years
• TNCC, NIHSS, and ABLS certifications are welcomed but not required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
