Description:
Unit has 8 surgical suites currently.
There are 16-18 cases per day.
Certification required: BLS.
Must work with both adult and pediatric patients.
No robotics are utilized; however, there is a minimally invasive surgery program.
Techs must have reliable transportation as public transport is unavailable.
Clinicians should demonstrate a positive attitude and punctuality.
Attendance is critical; calling in is discouraged.
The ideal candidate is clinically sound and can adapt quickly.
Familiarity with the scrub side of the operating room is essential.
Techs will assist with instruments during weekends, including decontamination, picking, and wrapping packs.
Certification as a CST is not mandatory; on-the-job training is acceptable if the candidate is experienced.
There is a large bariatric program as well as general and orthopedic surgery, including total joints.
The facility uses Stryker endo systems and DuPuy hips for surgical procedures.
Daily scheduling consists of 10-hour day shifts, with the possibility of on-call duties.
Endoscopic procedures are performed in the operating room by general surgeons, without GI doctors.
There is a focus on performing ERCPs.
