Responsibilities

Job Overview

Deliver comprehensive outpatient services in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine. Responsibilities may encompass preventive care, immunizations, primary care and treatment, health education, medication prescribing, ordering and interpreting lab tests or imaging, making referrals based on patient needs, conducting physical examinations, screening tests, family planning, and other services within your training scope. Supervision and collaboration with Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and/or students may be required.

Key Job Functions

• Provide primary and ambulatory outpatient care to clinic patients through interviews, examinations, and treatments; document and complete notes while ensuring patient confidentiality in accordance with federal regulations.
• Assist in addressing complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
• Contribute to training and guiding clinic staff to enhance awareness and improve patient care.
• Engage in the development of clinic protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality medical care; adhere to clinic policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review; engage in peer review programs to assess the quality of medical staff and services provided at the clinics.
• Offer supervision and consultation to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, either in person or through virtual means.
• Attend and actively engage in both internal and external meetings to enhance patient services.
• Support the organization's vision, mission, and goals, demonstrating a commitment to its values.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Medical License (MD or DO) in California; board eligible or certified.
• Current DEA license.
• CPR Certification (including BLS for Child, Infant, and Adult with a one-time hands-on skills training).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Understanding of community health centers, public assistance programs, state and federal regulations, and managed care systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients, clinicians, and staff.
• Ability to engage professionally with individuals from diverse social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, while adhering to government-funded program constraints.
• Willingness to comply with the organization's attendance and dress code policies.
• Commitment to follow organizational policies regarding documentation, workflows, and patient care guidelines.
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks as established by the organization.
• Capable of handling confidential information with professionalism.
• Exceptional customer service skills and dedication to achieving the highest level of client satisfaction.
• Familiarity with computers, business email, communication systems, and internet search capabilities; proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to utilize electronic health records effectively.
