DPP is seeking a Sr. Control Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in the Engineering and Industrial Automation industry.
- Will travel throughout North Carolina to visit clients and shadow current employee.
- This role is onsite in Kernersville, NC.
- Develop control logic software and user interface applications.
- Will assist with initial start-up and debug integrated systems and the development of system documentation.
- Work on automation and control system integration projects for clients in industries such as semiconductors, pulp and paper, food and beverage, etc.
- Work well with others and self-directed with only general supervision.
- Works in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocols/requirements.
- Understands piping and instrument diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, databases and vendor manuals. Interpret and utilize appropriate ISA standards and practices.
- Will act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians
- General administration such as paperwork, copying, printing, faxing, and using a computer
- Data Center work is prominent.
- Bachelor’s degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Controls Engineering is preferred.
- An Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent with equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 25% to job sites
- Must know Rockwell software and hardware.
- Experience of 5-10 years in areas below is preferred:
- An in-depth understanding of control systems, components, ladder logic programming, SCADA programming and their applications
- Experience with PLC programming of Allen Bradley PLCs (Rockwell 5, 500, 5000, Device Net, Point I/O, additional experience in GE or other PLC platforms is a plus)
- Experience with VFD programming (Preferably Allen-Bradley or ABB VFDs)
- Experience with Ignition or GE Cimplicity SCADA systems (Python and SQL scripting experience is a plus)
- Experience with the development of sequence of operations, functional acceptance, and operational acceptance documentation
- Experience with PID loop tuning (Open and Closed Loops)
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
