Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes through advanced clinical skills and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

Administer and monitor complex cardiac interventions including Impella devices, pulmonary artery lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters.
Perform post-cardiac surgery care, both directly from the OR and in recovery, ensuring optimal patient stabilization.
Utilize advanced monitoring tools such as thermodilution PA cath and manage patient hemodynamics.
Execute routine procedures including A-Line insertions, ventilator management, drips, sheaths, and ABG draws.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Float across units as needed, supporting preventive care and emergency interventions.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required.
Active RN license in state or a valid compact license.
Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; ability to interpret EKG strips.
Proficient in managing A-lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABGs.
Experience with Epic charting system and tele-ECG competency assessment.
Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
