Registered Nurse (RN) - Cayuga Primary Care - Community Corners The Registered Nurse position supports physicians and/or mid-level providers with clinical activities and direct patient care. The RN may also assist in appointment scheduling and other related activities for optimal patient service. RNs, by nature of licensure, have oversight responsibilities to other clinical staff (LPNs and medical assistants). Roles and Responsibilities Performs professional nursing care in accordance with the New York State Nursing Practice Act. Carries out all assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of patients, per practice. Takes and records patient's vital signs. Performs triage for physicians/providers with regard to clinical questions, prescription refills, test results and other patient calls per practice protocols. Prepares patient's record for visit and patient education, as directed by physician/provider. Maintains compliance regulations. Participates in scheduled team meetings to discuss/clarify roles, responsibilities, processes, and patient issues. Participates in quality improvement activities and committees, as requested. Provides care management by communicating with community agencies as appropriate. Works with all members of the team to achieve patient-centered care as well as quality care by using the best practice standards and case management. Required Skills and Experience Graduation from an accredited RN program. Current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse. BLS Certification. Preferred Skills and Experience Basic knowledge of diseases and treatment. Knowledge of medical insurance carriers and how to obtain prior authorization. Knowledge and ability to perform manual blood pressure checks. Physical Requirements Standing – 70% Sitting – 30% Reaching – 80% Bending – 50% Lifting – must be able to lift 40 lb. Location and Travel Requirements Location: Onsite at 905 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850. Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM-6:00 PM; varying shift start and stop times based on staff rotation. Pay Range Disclosure $35.63 to $44.18 per hour.
