Instructor - Primary/Acute/or Dual trained Advance Practice Professional US-OR-Portland Position Category: Advanced Practice Provider Job Type: Faculty Position Type: Regular Part-Time (0.70 FTE) The Department of Pediatrics - Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is hiring an APP to provide infusion and transfusion services in the Infusion Center. The Infusion Center provides nearly 5,000 services per year across multiple pediatric subspecialties. The APP will collaborate with attendings, trainees, nurses, and medical assistants to manage patient safety, workflow, and clinical care. Function/Duties of Position The role aligns with OHSU’s mission of clinical, advocacy, research, and educational excellence and involves the following responsibilities: Clinical Responsibilities Implement clinical plans of care as ordered by faculty attendings Assure safe, efficient, high‑quality, customer‑oriented management of infusion and transfusion services Manage and treat infusion and transfusion reactions Interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe and manage medications and other therapies Manage and treat common acute and chronic health diagnoses in children Provide health teaching with an emphasis on prevention of illness and health maintenance Refer patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary Education / Advocacy Provide clinical education to fellows, residents, medical students, and APP students participating in pediatric rotations Provide feedback and evaluation of learners and trainees, in formal and informal settings Serve as key educator to fellows enrolled in the pediatric hematology‑oncology fellowship program, offering guidance to support their development Scholarship / Research Engage in scholarly activity, including education, research, grant‑supported work, quality improvement projects, academic papers, and presentations in related disciplines Collaborate with department or division research support staff on research projects Administrative Activities Participate in faculty meetings at the division, department, and APP levels Attend relevant conferences and committees as assigned by division leadership or lead APP Pursue academic and professional development through attendance and/or participation at national and regional conferences Required Qualifications Current Acute Care/Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or PA license for the state of Oregon Appropriate national board certification State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner prescriptive privileges DEA license Ability to manage a heavy workload with multiple priorities and strict deadlines Effective verbal and written communication skills Proficient use of computing hardware and software, including EMR, word processing, and spreadsheets Regular and consistent attendance at work PALS certification Preferred Qualifications Experience as an APP in complex medical or pediatric subspecialty care #J-18808-Ljbffr Stryker Corporation
