Senior Estimator

Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead estimating activities and support the estimating team with complex projects
- Review customer drawings, specifications, RFQs, and manufacturing requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication, machining, weldments, and assemblies
- Analyze part geometry, materials, tolerances, production methods, and manufacturing processes
- Evaluate labor hours, machine setup requirements, tooling, scrap rates, and subcontracted operations
- Work closely with engineering, production, procurement, and sales teams to develop accurate quotes
- Communicate directly with customers and suppliers regarding pricing, capabilities, and requirements
- Support sales and business development efforts by evaluating new projects and product opportunities
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and improve estimating accuracy
- Present quotes, respond to customer questions, and revise estimates when required
- Track quote performance, historical pricing data, and estimating metrics
- Manage multiple quoting projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- 5+ years of estimating experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal, machining, weldments, or contract manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes including laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, machining, and finishing operations
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and material specifications
- Experience with labor cost estimating, unit cost estimating, and cost analysis
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, cost modeling, and data analysis tools
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and estimating software
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with customers, engineering, production, and procurement teams
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives preferred
- Experience in a full-service fabrication and assembly manufacturing environment preferred
- Familiarity with Paperless Parts or Fulcrum ERP preferred
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
