About the Role: As a Registered Nurse in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. Working closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the surgical team, you will monitor patient recovery, manage immediate post-operative needs, and ensure a safe transition through the recovery process. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys hands-on patient care, uses strong clinical judgment, and thrives in an environment where teamwork and attention to detail are essential. You will play an important role in helping patients recover safely while providing reassurance, education, and compassionate care. Schedule & Work Environment Four day work week, Monday-Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm. Collaborative surgical environment supporting patients during post-anesthesia recovery. Primary Responsibilities Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, including vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and overall clinical condition. Recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately to post-operative complications. Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and provide interventions according to provider orders and established protocols. Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and nursing staff to coordinate safe patient recovery. Evaluate discharge readiness and provide patients and caregivers with post-operative instructions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses. Promote patient safety, comfort, and efficient patient flow throughout the recovery process. Qualifications Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Current CPR/BLS certification required. Previous PACU, critical care, emergency, or perioperative nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and ability to respond effectively to changing patient conditions. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills. The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $26.25 - $47.87 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
