Long-Term Substitute Paraeducator Location: New Britain, CT – Consolidated School District of New Britain, Hartford County. Pay: $18.57 / Hour. Job Overview: An ESS substitute paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher in providing extra support to students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth. The role supports the regular classroom curriculum and helps individual students. Responsibilities Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups. Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class. Help with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials. Supervise students in cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and during before/after school programs. Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs. Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans. Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with a Paraprofessional Certification, Associate's Degree, or 60 college credits. State/FBI Criminal History Clearance.
