Job ObjectiveThe Maintenance Lead will manage and work alongside a small crew. They are responsible for conserving and maintaining customer facilities and buildings in outstanding conditions as well as all equipment and systems to achieve excellent operations and safety performance.Essential FunctionsThis job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.Ability to perform light maintenance light maintenance duties such as inspecting drivers, motors, belts, check fluids levels, replace filters and follow inspection list.Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, to precision measuring instructions, electrical and electronic testing devices.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by reading blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessaryInspect, operate and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.Knowledge of relevant equipment, safety policies, procedures and strategies for the protection of people data, property and institutions. Drive and operate school equipment such as trucks, dump trucks, tractors, golf carts, lifts or any equipment needed to perform the job.Inspect equipment and assembly process to prevent damaged and/or determinate the root cause of malfunction or damage to equipment and/or components.Basic knowledge of floor tile, drywall, and structure repairs.Basic knowledge of blueprints reading, schematic, logic diagrams, maintenance manuals and catalogs.Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned and by following Work Order requestsDetermine and make recommendations as to when subcontractors need to be called to perform major maintenance, repairs and upgrades. Perform and assist with event set ups and customer requests for events and programs.Respond to radio and emergency calls at any time.Load, unload and transport parts, materials and equipment.Daily clean and maintain tools and mechanical equipment.Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry work.Perform painting duties, sand caulk, and prime.Load, transport and unload pipe, gravel, dirt, asphalt, and other materials and equipment.Perform minor concrete repairs, sidewalks, gutters and other miscellaneous repairs.Assist operators with grounds maintenance and equipment maintenanceAssist with carpentry, plumbing, metal work and paintingKeep commitments and due dates by informing customers, supervisor and director of work progress, timetables and issues on all facilities.Address problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.Performs other duties as assigned by Facility Manager, Director and Customer which falls within the job scope.Minimum Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certifications: Must possess at time of hire and keep throughout employment a valid State Driver's license and maintain a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.Experience:5-7 years of experience or combination of education and expertise in a mechanical and maintenance environment preferred.Mechanical or technical experience in precision assembly preferred. Previous experience in an educational setting is helpful but not necessary.Skills: Good communication skills.Ability to operate computer software needed to perform the job such as Maintimizer and School Dude or any other required by the Customer or Director.Commitment to provide exceptional customer services.Ability to work effectively with co-workers, teaching staff members and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner. Listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.Self-starting individual who follows directions, adheres to a work schedule, and can focus on details.Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients and vendors.Physical and Working ConditionsRegularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and reach with hand and arms.Frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 110 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of performing the essential job responsibilities and duties for shifts of equal to or greater than 10 hours per day and during overtime as needed by supervision. Perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials, including, but not limited to backpack blowers, large containers of mulch/plant material, various sizes of lawnmowers, etc.Push, pull, grip and squeeze various tools, products and/or items (e.g., pruning)Walk up to 10 miles a day, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain, often with equipmentUse hand sawWork in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation)Noise level may be loud at times and use of ear plugs may be required
