The material handler will be responsible for the physical receipt, storage, and distribution of production materials. This position will also require involvement in conducting physical inventories and count discrepancy resolution, management of non-conforming materials, and interface with purchasing and production departments regarding material issues.Qualification Standards: High school diploma preferred with a minimum of one year's experience in Materials or Operations supplemented with OJT. Must possess good written and oral communication skills. Sound basic math skills. Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of accuracy. Due to large work areas sometimes involved, must be able to perform job duties with limited direct supervision. Possess working knowledge of standard material receiving and internal distribution practices. Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.Functional Requirements:Assist with terminal/distribution operations by performing loading and unloading activitiesMonitor products transferred to and from tanks, vessels, or pipelines at terminal siteAssist with terminal maintenance duties as needed maintaining equipment in operating conditionCatch samples as per Standard Operating ProcedureInput information into electronic hand-held device which documents Standard Operating ProcedureLoad trucks, railcars and unload raw materials from outside suppliers and intra-plant Units.Track mobile movement & spot railcars and tanker trailersAssist customers and/or producers with any problems that may ariseSpecial assignment duties and call out as requiredSubject to random DOT drug screeningCompensation: Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.Physical Involvement: Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 100 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.Turner Industries is an equal employment opportunity employer.
