Senior Manufacturing Test Development Engineer

Location and Work Arrangement Austin, TX/ USA – Remote (hybrid work schedule as needed). Overview Jabil is seeking a Sr. Software Test Development Engineer to directly contribute to transformative growth within our Enterprise and Infrastructure division by applying innovative solutions to large‑scale software production environments. The engineer ensures quality and reliability of hardware products and supports overall success of manufacturing processes and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Design and develop test systems and procedures for manufacturing processes, including test plans, test cases, and scripts to evaluate hardware components such as motherboards, memory, CPUs, storage (SSD, HDD, NVMe), and PCIe devices (NIC, GPU, mezz cards, RAID cards). Create, validate, release, and maintain test software and scripts that automate the testing process, controlling test equipment, collecting data, and generating reports. Support and maintain manufacturing servers (L10) and rack (L11) level test software and infrastructure deployed at production facilities, implementing minor system configuration changes (new IPN). Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, specifications, and infrastructure for manufacturing servers and racks. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel—to align on testing requirements and quality standards. Continuously learn and adopt latest testing technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices to keep manufacturing processes competitive. Define and collaborate on overall test infrastructure and application architectures. Education & Experience BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (required). 5–8 years of experience in software manufacturing test development/sustaining with enterprise server, storage or networking products. 10+ years of relevant experience and some college coursework in lieu of a 4‑year degree will also be considered. MS degree preferred. Experience working in multi‑site and multicultural environments is a plus. Technical Skills Proficient in Python, Java, BASH, C, C++ (experience a plus). Linux development with CentOS/Ubuntu; strong fundamentals. Hardware & API solutions for controlling, managing, and stressing L10 devices (servers, networks, storage SSDs, NVMe): IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, memtester. Configuration of virtual machines (VMs) using VMWare (DHCP, PXE boot, nginx). Knowledge of enterprise Ethernet datacenter switching/routing (L1, L2, L3): BGP, DHCP Relay, ECMP; Arista CloudVision is a plus. Experience with versioning tools (Git preferred). Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
