Human Resources Coordinator

Port of Brownsville | Brownsville, TX (On-site) We are seeking an HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department of a confidential employer located at thePort of Brownsville. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for assisting with day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced environment. Schedule:Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Status:Full-time Key Responsibilities: Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire paperwork, orientation coordination, and I-9 verification. Support payroll processing — collecting timesheets, entering hours, and ensuring accuracy prior to submission. Maintain and update employee records and HR files in compliance with company policy. Provide excellent customer service to employees and management at all levels. Assist with HR administrative duties including correspondence, scheduling, and reporting. Support HR projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree a plus. Prior experience in HR, onboarding, or payroll processing preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Education: High School Diploma or GED required; college degree a plus. Experience: Prior HR, onboarding, or payroll experience preferred.
