Assistant Store Manager I

Job Overview We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. The role includes assisting with store functions and daily activities, providing customer support, organizing merchandise, maintaining store appearance, and supporting the Store Manager in training associates. Responsibilities Assist with day‑to‑day store functions and activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor as needed; ensure seasonal areas are maintained. Perform opening and closing procedures as required. Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities. Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts), and loss prevention. Maintain store areas to company standards, including a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom. Protect and secure company assets, including store cash. Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure associates follow company policies. Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates. Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions among customers, associates, and leaders. Ensure store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; reading, interpreting, and explaining operational directives required. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred. Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required. Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment required. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required. Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making skills required. Benefits Medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision insurance.
