Maintenance Repairer - Carpenter Shop

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau ofCherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI)is seeking a Maintenance Repairer to join our team! This is a full-timeposition with a Tuesday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. schedule. The Maintenance Repairer performs skilled maintenance work for the facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry and construction including building cabinets and shelving. Experience in repair of buildings and other structures required. Maintenance Repairer will have basic knowledge of recognized trades such as electrical, plumbing, machine repair, painting, welding, etc. This position will perform routine maintenance on equipment throughout the facility to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position. CMHI provides active inpatient treatment to adults in need of acute psychiatric care. The facility offers several services including individualized treatment plans. Support for patients with special education needs to continue their education is provided, andindividuals areencouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan.
