Network Engineer OpportunitySeeking an experienced Network Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in routing and switching. Team specializes in Network Transport using Cisco and Juniper. They test and certify solutions for Charter’s Enterprise customers (small/medium/large businesses, not residential customers). Most of work is done at CTEC/Englewood Labs in a non-production environment. There they test and certify solutions before deploying with Enterprise customers. They use a lot of Charter specific tools so candidates need to be willing/able to learn to come up to speed. Seeking Network Engineer resource with previous production support, troubleshooting, design, network automation expertise. Any Cisco/Juniper certs are great to have but not required. Experience with Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Meraki and/or SD-WAN is highly desired, not required. Hybrid Schedule: Will be 3 days on / 2 days WFH Day-to-day: Working with Charter’s product team on solutions for Enterprise customer deployments. From there, working with equipment vendors to acquire HW, then working with lab to deploy, test and certify said solution then roll that out to the customer. The ‘customers’ they support are all internal to Charter. This is all project-based work, not on call after hours support needed.Plans and implements enterprise networks and related hardware and software. Designs and documents network architecture. Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps. Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters. Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. Tests and tunes security devices and systems. Programs routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice). Manages network services from planning phase through implementation. Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required. 5-10 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with one (or more) of the following networking technologies: Managed Security, Managed Wi-Fi, Wireless Internet Access, SD-WAN, Aggregation, NID, Circuit Emulation, Cell Tower Backhaul, Route Reflection, Segment. One (or more) of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIA, NSE 1-4
