Overview Dev Technology Group is seekingaSenior UI/UX Front-EndDesignLeadtodrive strategy and design execution across a largefederal agency. This role will serve as thecentral design authoritysupporting multiple delivery teams and applications, ensuring consistent, intuitive, and mission-aligned user experiences across diverse technology stacks.This role is ideal for a hands-on leader whoenjoys working alongsideour technical project teams and our federal customers torecommend and deliverUI/UX assets anddesignconstructs that our teams can use quickly and efficientlyutilizeacross a variety of technical environments (e.g.React-based custom applications,Microsoft Power App solutions, etc.). The ideal candidateis well versed inuser experience strategy and accessibility standards, and thrives in complex, mission-driven environments. The ideal candidate willpossessa minimum of8or moreyears of experiencein UI/UXdesignand implementation, including working alongsideor embedded withindevelopment teams tohelpthem deliver faster while ensuring a professional, modern, intuitive user experience that is compliant with federal design standards. WhatYou’llBe Doing Serve as the UI/UX SME and translate business requirements and UX strategy into elegant, intuitive, and high-performing user interfacesfor development teamsto implement Drive UI/UX best practices across programs, ensuring consistency, usability, and accessibility Establish andmaintainreusablecomponentlibraries and design systemsleveragingframeworks such as Bootstrap, Material UI, andTrussworks Ensure Section 508 compliance and adherence to WCAG 2.x standards across applications Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, designers, backend engineers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions Partner with projectand clientleadership to shape a modernization roadmap and implementmodernization initiatives and continuousproactiveimprovement ofthedevelopment processeswhile stayingcurrent with emerging frontend technologies Lead troubleshooting efforts toidentifyand resolve complex UI/UX and performance issues Provide final UI/UX review and sign-offof developed appsacrossmultiple tech platforms (e.g.M365 / Power Platform, ServiceNow, etc.) andfront-enddevelopment teams(e.g.React based apps)prior to customer User Acceptance Testing (UAT)androllout Lead creation of high-fidelity prototypes and wireframesfor multiple teams supportingdisparate techstacks Develop repeatable design-to-development workflows to accelerate delivery across teams Conduct usability testing and design validation sessionswithdevelopment teams Proactively coach and mentor development teams on UI/UX best practices and modern design approaches Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human–Computer Interaction & Design, or a related technical disciplinestrongly preferredORrelated professional experience in lieu of a degree acceptable. Over 8 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design and implementation, applying design standards and collaborating closely with development teams to deliver consistent, intuitive user experiences. 3–5 years of experience leading design initiatives across multiple applications or cross‑functional teams. Advancedproficiencyin HTML5andCSS3,andin design tools such as Figmaor Adobe suite Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG Proven experienceoptimizingfrontend performance and application scalability Experience working in Agile/DevSecOpsdevelopment environments Demonstrated ability to lead discussionsregardingUI/UXplanningand influence frontend strategy Experience with React and Power Platforms Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillswith ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Bachelors orMastersdegree inHuman-Computer Interaction and Designor similar area of study Experience leading frontend modernization or transformation initiatives Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or other UX prototyping tools Knowledge ofDevSecOpspractices and CI/CD integration for frontend deployments Experiencedesigning solutions that follow USWDS and supportfederal or regulated environments Who We Are Dev Technology is a growing IT company with an employee-centric culture that works on mission-critical projects for the federal government.
