Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee critical financial operations within a reputable clinical-stage biotech company. Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public company and SEC reporting background
  • Demonstrated expertise with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting (e.g., ASC 606, 718, 842)
  • Proven experience managing financial close cycles, SEC filings, and audit engagements
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial accounting, CMC, manufacturing accounting, and revenue recognition
  • Ability to analyze complex transactions and operational activities
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • High level of organization, ownership, and accountability in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
  • Familiarity with lease accounting (ASC 842)
  • Previous work in biotech, life sciences, or clinical-stage companies
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes for clinical and manufacturing spend
  • Prior experience working with CROs, CMO costs, and vendor payments
Job Requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • At least 6 years of hands-on accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firms desirable)
  • Experience working within a public company setting, with direct SEC reporting responsibilities
  • Background in biotech, clinical trials, CMC, or manufacturing sectors advantageous
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to support audit activities and coordinate with external auditors
  • Proven track record of maintaining robust internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines
