Make a meaningful impact helping students develop their communication skills in this school-based Speech-Language Pathologist contract opportunity near Waterbury, CT. This role welcomes candidates who possess their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or are pursuing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), making it an ideal fit for both experienced therapists and those looking to complete their fellowship in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Active state licensure as an SLP (or eligibility to obtain)
- ASHA CCC or CFY status accepted
- Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and IEP processes
- Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with children and collaborating with educators and families
- Strong documentation and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat communication, language, articulation, and fluency disorders among K-12 students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapeutic interventions tailored to each student’s needs
- Maintain thorough records of progress, evaluations, and treatments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to maximize student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and multitiered support teams
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and continuing education/training opportunities
